The Quality of Indonesian Building Materials Shows Superior Potential at Korea Build Week 2025

Indonesian building materials showed their potential at the Korea Build Week 2025 exhibition at the COEX Convention and Exhibition Center in Seoul, South Korea.

During the exhibition held from Wednesday (July 30) to Tuesday (August 2), the Indonesian Pavilion showcased several brands of building materials, including Luxer Board. The superior product that successfully stole the spotlight was non-asbestos cement board.

At this year’s exhibition, Indonesian building materials recorded a potential transaction value of USD 2.52 million, equivalent to Rp 41.62 billion, as reported by Kontan.co.id (August 12). This is due to the demand for building materials from Indonesia to support construction in South Korea.

The export potential for cellulose fiber based cement building materials to South Korea is highly promising, as stated by Mailan, Vice President of Export & Business Development at Luxer Board. In line with records from the Indonesian Ministry of Trade throughout 2024, the value of Indonesia's CRC exports to South Korea reached USD 1.68 million, equivalent to Rp 27.45 billion.

“Our products are already well-known in South Korea. The opportunities here are huge because South Korea does not have local cement board factories. Everything relies on imports from other countries,” said Mailan.

Indonesia’s participation in the Korea Build Week 2025 event is a collaboration between the Ministry of Trade through the ITPC Busan and Indonesian businesses.
